Tokyo Garden in Downey

Cool vibe inside; interior design was detailed & soulful kind of R & B music was playing. Food was tasty but we were tended to by the bus boy more than by our waitress... all in all I think I'd come back.

Very good service! No rude workers and very attentive. Freebie edamame. I appreciate that rarity. And got a 2nd bowl too. That was nice of them. Got kids bento box. It came with a little bit of watermelon pieces. Like 3 little pieces. Asked for more and they gave it. That was nice. It was all enjoyable. Good salmon skin salad and huge. Very good pieces of eel. Good quality. Good misogyny soup. And cute place. Nicely decorated. I would change the music probably it was a little chaotic and loud. But overall great place. Coming back in future.

Great portions, tastes amazing, worth prices! Staff is really kind here. Probably the best sushi in Downey! They also have a nice system for pick-up right now during COVID-19. Will be going again and again... Highly recommend Tokyo Garden

Good food. Chicken teriyaki is kinda dry. Got charged for an order that was never brought out. Servers were nice.

I go to this outstanding restaurant many times because I love the special air that is outline this restaurant. The crew is extraordianrillyremarkably loving and skilfull. The service is extremely rapid. Not to mention, the food they cook is exceptionaly good. I ate there many times and I was always happy. The price is fair. I suggest this restaurant to my friends and family.

Love to go with the family on Fridays but the only downside is the waiting! Even after you sit down they take a long time to take and receive your order. They definitely need more workers to speed up the process. Other than that I would give it a 5!

Love this place. My cousin and I go here to celebrate our birthdays. Always fresh and tasty at reasonable prices. Friendly staff. Almost always packed so be prepared to wait a bit to get a table, but worth the wait!

Just walked out with my girlfriend. An hour from where we live visiting her family. Decided to try another sushi spot. I've said before, outside Los Angeles you're not getting good sushi. And I stand by that statement. But then again what do I know? I'm from New York and not Japanese. Walking in they seemed pretty dead inside. Not a good sign if you ask me. We sat at the bar per usual for us. I didn't like that we couldn't place our orders directly with the bar chef's. The customer service was fair. Nothing special. I felt towards the end of our meal we were approached being asked if everything was okay.We ordered two rolls and an appetizer. Both their Red Dragon and their Oh my God rolls were not bad. Nothing special but pretty good. I'd maybe go back if ever in the area and in the mood for sushi. Give them a try if you're on that side of the country.

I visit this outstanding restaurant once a month because I enjoy the good air that is characterizes this place. The team is extremely loving and well trained. The service is extraordinarily fast. Needless to say, the food they prepare is exceptionaly good. I frequent many times and I was always happy. The price is decent. I suggest this restaurant to to everybody.

This place is worth a visit. They serve large portions for fair rates. Consistently well kept and with awesome atmosphere. Highly recommended.

So unprofessional. I used to come here very often for 4 years, but then they just started taking so long giving our food. They seem to take longer and longer everytime we go. 1 hour and 30 min? Seriously? The food is very good but I'm not wasting so much time anymore just to receive our order. I used to love this place but now I'm going to start looking some other sushi place for now on.

Great place for sushi, but starting to get pricey..

Atmosphere is trendy. The service is very attentive and friendly. The food is excellent. Fish for sushi is fresh. The selection of sushi rolls has something for everyone.They make the best sashimi salad in town. The only draw back is that while there may be at least 70 to 80 seats for dining in, arriving after 6pm is quite crowded. Even if you don't like traditional sushi, you can't find a sushi roll here for anyone. Found this place because it was close to hotel, now it is my go to spot when I'm in town.

The poke bowl didn't have sashimi but salmon. It's good, but kinda pricy so it would be nice if the fish was fresher.

They have a large variety of unique rolls, which are all delectable and visually appealing. I personally like their Dragon and Rainbow Rolls because of the sweet fruit they place on top of the salmon and the sauces they include. I personally like to order the Sashimi Salad with friends because one is enough for everyone, trust me. Great sushi at great prices! 🍣

Food good. But needs a bit of a clutter makeover. As a customer, I don't really want to see storage clutter on shelves, etc. Reorganize and clean up would be good.

Food is amazing but the service is absolutely terrible. They serve employees on break faster than the actual customers. My mom, my sister, and I waited two hours to finally receive the only three plates we ordered, while the 2 employees on break received their 6 plates they ordered, in less than 30 minutes.

Best sushi/sashimi in Downey. Great & unique specialty dishes, (Tuna Popeye), Xlnt service and all is very fresh.

This place is cool. Decoration is cool, and service is cool too. The sushi rolls I got all tasted the same but then again I don’t know how to order sushi but it wasn’t a bad thing cuz they all tasted good. This place gets pretty packed quick so good luck if you’re in a big group.

Great flavorful rolls. Good ambiance. Fresh cut fish. Top notch. Side note: the udon is a surprise hitter. Could be more packed however that broth is a knock out.

I love the sushi from this restaurant! Everything is delicious..a little pricey but worth every penny. It's a small place but they keep everything very clean 😊 I just wish that the food service was a little faster. I only have 1 hour for lunch from my work and sometimes I have to rush to eat my food here because of how long it takes to my order.I love their mystery roll and popcorn shrimp.

Well, I decided to jump on the Poke band wagon and try it. After a few places, I was very disappointed.I decided I would give it one last chance at my favorite place, Tokyo Garden. I tried the salmon with tuna and wasabi sauce. Wow, I didn't know it could be so refreshing, delighted. First of all, presentation was kind of 😕, but when you begin to eat it, it is like a sour sweet taste that just captures you. I got to say that I even ate all the rice and I usually don't.

Service was great, server was attentive and everyone made sure we were happy with our rolls. All the sushi rolls were delicious. We tried the BGCR, mexican, baked salmon, mystery, crazy and red dragon roll. And we also had dessert macaroon of cappuccino and green tea these were very tasty. Love coming here.

This place is the bomb ....they serve you big plates ,food delicious ,place is clean ,service is awesome !!! Will recommend

After spending more than eighty dollars for two! They wouldn't let me use the rest room! And we ate out doors of there rest rent! They told us to go next door to 99 store! Never going there again. Ben going there for more than 10 years!
